August Burns Red are back on Fearless Records and they’ve marked the moment with a track that lives up to its name. New single “Behemoth” arrives as a huge statement from one of metalcore’s most consistent bands, showing they’re still pushing forward more than twenty years into their career.
The Lancaster group have built their reputation on evolution without losing identity, and “Behemoth” feels like another step in that direction. The song leans into the band’s heaviest instincts while making space for quieter, more reflective moments that hit just as hard. It’s the kind of dynamic writing that has kept them relevant across multiple eras of the genre.
According to guitarist JB Brubaker, the track went through more revisions than almost anything the band has written before. That process shows in the final result, a song that feels deliberate, raw and fully realised rather than rushed. Frontman Jake Luhrs adds that the lyrics centre on confronting past pain and choosing growth, framing the track as both heavy musically and personal thematically.
The release also marks a full circle moment with the band’s return to Fearless Records, the label closely tied to some of metalcore’s biggest modern stories. For August Burns Red, it signals continuity rather than nostalgia, a reminder that they’re still operating at the top of their game.

Alongside the new single, the band have announced the Spring Horizons co headline tour with The Amity Affliction, bringing their latest material on the road across North America this April and May with support from Boundaries and Heavensgate.
With hundreds of millions of streams, Grammy nominations and a catalogue that spans decades, August Burns Red don’t need to prove anything. “Behemoth” feels like proof they still want to.
